I use WavePad from NCH Software to edit all my audio files. This program has a great deal more to offer than just the ability to split a file. No doubt others will have more suggestions, but I use it everyday and heartily recommend it, along with some of their other software: Switch, SoundTap, Express Rip, and Golden Records.

They do offer a free program called Slice Audio Splitter; it appears that it is limited in its capabilities but may be worth checking out.

Thanks Vapors. That Splice program may be the ticket. My needs and uses are very limited so I may give that a whirl and the price is right!!
